Maxim Roy stars as Claire Dereux in Defying Gravity, a one-hour drama about a team of astronauts on a six-year mission in outer space. Mission Control's highly competent flight surgeon, Claire is also in a romantic relationship with on board doctor and psychiatrist Evram Mintz.

Maxim is currently appearing on ABC's MVP, and has a recurring role in CBC's Sophie Parker. She also starred as Caroline Morrisson opposite Peter Outerbridge in the award-winning series ReGenesis, and as undercover cop Mickey Bell in the Gemini award-winning mini-series Would Be Kings. Most recently, Maxim starred in the television feature Infected with Gil Bellows, and in the BBC series Superstorm. Previous credits also include the Fox Family series Misguided Angels.

Among Maxim's recent feature film credits is the upcoming horror thriller The Factory starring John Cusack; Adam's Wall; and the Canada-France co-production Romaine par-30.

Bilingual Quebec native Maxim worked with acclaimed directors Denys Arcand, Bruce McDonald and Richard Ciupka at an early age. She became a star in French Canada thanks to her lead television roles in Au Nom du Pere et du Fils; the prime time soap Virginie; and the award-winning feature Les Boys. Her role as Jennifer Mackenzie in The Last Chapter 1-11 garnered her a Gemini nomination as Canada's Hottest Star.
