Michael Salomon

Michael Salomon kicked off his directorial career creating Metallica's debut video One. The music video helped establish the band nationwide, and at the same time blazed a path for Salomon. It was nominated for Best Heavy Metal Video at the MTV awards, and was declared one of the Top 75 Videos Of All Time in Rolling Stone's critics' poll. Numerous awards later, including the CMT (Country Music Television) Director of the Year awards in 1994, 1995 and 1996, Michael again performed his magic, creating memorable and award winning videos for Trisha Yearwood, Pam Tillis, Alan Jackson, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Lonestar, Brooks & Dunn, over twenty videos for country band Sawyer Brown and most recently, memorable clips for country great Toby Keith. His association with Toby earned Salomon two CMT Flameworthy Awards in 2002, including one for Director of the Year and two in 2003 including Video of the Year. As an award-winning editor, Michael lent his talents to projects for such musical luminaries as Garth Brooks, Madonna, Mick Jagger, Janet Jackson, Billy Joel, Whitney Houston, Bon Jovi, Ozzy Osborne and many others.

In addition to the impressive list of music videos, Michael has directed and or segment-directed a wide variety of long form home videos, commercials, network specials and syndicated series. He directed the NBC Special, Garth Brooks: Live From Dublin. The show brought together an international crew of two hundred, to film the three-day event; captured with twenty-four cameras. The special garnered an Emmy nomination.

From Metallica to Garth Brooks, director Michael Salomon continues to demonstrate why he earned the reputation as a masterful storyteller and one of industry's best creative visionaries.
