Mei Melancon was born in the Philippines and raised in Japan. She started pursuing acting when her family settled in the United States in her early teens. While having a successful modeling career she began studying with various acting coaches in 2001.
She started booking roles in hit shows such as CSI and Deadwood. Mei caught her big break when Brett Ratner cast her in the role of Psylock in X-MEN 3.
Mei recently wrapped a starring role in the Bigfoot independent production of Irreversi, a thriller with Estella Warren and Kenny Doughty. She is currently shooting with Sierra Club (of which she is the spokesperson), a hosting series of web episodes and PSA campaigns that are aimed to help raise awareness and making environmental issues more accessible to youth. She currently resides in Los Angeles.
