Victor Fleming

Victor Fleming [1883-1949] received an Oscar for Best Director, but not for The Wizard of Oz; the director won for Gone With the Wind, a project for which he left Oz three weeks prior to the film's finish (with an uncredited King Vidor completing Oz).
