Larry Parks Forum

by lori werling I think Larry Parks was the most handsomest actor, and I do mean "actor" in his era and even before and after. I think he was mistreated after the HUAC actions, since there were actors who did worst things than he and they got away with it. I still watch Larry's movies (I have ten of them now) and will continue to do so. I also collect photos of him whenever I can find them and will continue to that also. Comment on this...

by marilyn masters I'm 74 years old and have been in love with Larry Parks since I was 17. I didn't know him and it isn't real I know but it feels real. It's my fantasy, and the only one I've ever had. Comment on this...

by Mo Snoad I saw the Jolson films in 1946 has a child and never forgot I have recently purchased the DVD and it brought back many memories, I always thought that Larry Parks was Al Jolson by all account he was a much nicer person than Jolson. Parks was terrific in the role a nd I have always admired him all these years. Comment on this...

by jan essex Beverly said most of it! I thoroughly agree with her. Surely the best miming job ever and if i became a Jolson fan it was only because of Larry Parks. I, like SO many went back time and time again to watch him 'bowl us over' with his wonderful charm and great acting. Wife Betty Garrett's book is very informative, and i run a Website on Larry @ http://www.geocities.com/janess51/index.html I just love him! Comment on this...

by beverley melchior i think that larry parks was just the sexiest man of his time. a supurb actor, absolutely brilliant in the jolson autobios.i would have loved to meet this man,who i believe, was highly underestimated, and so coldly treated in hollywood. Comment on this...
