Darren Star
Darren Star (born 1961) is an American television and movie producer and screenwriter best known for the hugely successful television series Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place (both of which were co-produced with Aaron Spelling), and Sex and the City. As well as creating these series, he personally wrote a number of scripts and directed some episodes.
Amongst Star's other works was the comedic Grosse Pointe, which Star himself described as a satire of 90210.
Star has residences in New York and Los Angeles, and is openly gay.
