I know jerry from a long time ago when we both worked for a newspaper in Joliet, Ill. called the SPECTATOR. He was a writer and I was a photographer.
I remember him as a very professional and serious reporter with a dry, quiet sense of humor and a wicked beat, attributed to his days as a drummer.
I once helped him move from Lockport, Ill. to Elgin, Ill., and then we lost contact. I would like to touch base with him again just to hash over old times and renew our aquaintance. I'm sure a lot of water has flowed over the proverbial dam in the last forty years.

If you ever do find him, tell him that he is right: "anybody can do this." But if he really wants to do something quite extraordinary, tell him that he could prove what a good detective he is by finding out who the real phenomenon is.

Seems that the phenomenon is not really Portuguese. She was being hidden from her real family; and now she wants to know who they are.
