Gianni Romoli began his career writing for Italian television. His first feature was the horror comedy Dellamorte Dellamore (Cemetary Man) starring Rupert Everett in 1994. In 1999, he first partnered with Ferzan Ozpetek to co-write and produce Harem Suaré, and the two later collaborated on Le Fate Ignoranti (His Secret Life) and Facing Windows. Romoli was also the co-producer of Eden (2001), starring Samantha Morton and Thomas Jane.
