| by Charlotte A. Garron I saw this movie for the first time on IFC. I enjoyed it enough to purchase it for my library. I love foreign and indie films. But, the ones that really speak to me are the ones that actually mirror my own life and the people in it. It is seldom that films in the U.S. indie or otherwise depict the lives of everyday and ordinary people with such detail and grace and inclusiveness. "The Ignorat Fairies" does just that. It speaks to groups of people that "live" together and are essentially ignored by the mainstream media. It suggests that we as a country are marginalized into social, economic and religious pockets that have little to no interaction with one another. That is just not true. It's nice to see the world portrayed more as it should be and is for the most part rather than pretend we don't exist. It is an all around wonderful movie! Comment on this... |

| by Mary Saunders I loved "The Turkish Bath" and "The Ignorant Fairies" and find his work unique. He has such a reverence for his characters and feel for setting. I haven't seen such an eye for detail since the early sixties. Comment on this... |
