| by laarney I really hope Maricel can do more challenging roles. I'm thinking of a comedy/action with Cesar Montano where they'll play spies like "Leverage" as in different characters. A thriller movie with Aga Muhlach where Maricel will play as the abusive wife and the story will be told like "Damages" of Glenn Close. And a movie where she will play as prima donna and she will destroy people's lives. She can also play as the president's wife doing all the dirty jobs. Maricel has more to offer and hope to see her more next year. God bless Maricel and all Maricelians all over the world! Comment on this... |

| by Michael Luis by emem BTW I bet - Tanungin ninyo ang mga younger audience now na non-Maricelians and they will say YTT and Bahay Kubo are still better for them than other recent films. Nasanay lang tayo sa sobrang gagandang fims na nagawa ni Marya and mahirap to always surpass them pero taggapin na ang realidad mas maganda pa rin ang 2 films na ito ni Marya kaysa sa ibang commercial films na napalabas in the past 2 years. --- totoo ka talaga sa sinabi mo. personally, mas maganda pa ang YTT than No Other Woman and A Secret Affair. mas maganda pa ang Bahay Kubo than Sisterakas and Tanging Ina series. as for GBBT. NAniniwala rin akong hindi hahayaan ni Direk Wenn na maging Decoration lang si Inay sa movie. knowing Direk Wenn pa. kung si Kris Aquino nga sa Sisterakas na kontrabida nabigyan nya ng mahaba habang exposures at highlights, si Inay MaryA pa kaya? basta ang paniniwalA ko, magiging bongga ang participation ni inay Marya sa GBBT at magiging EQUAL ang treatment ng movie kina Vice at Inay Marya.. excited ako for this kasi malakas ang kutob kong maiibibigay na kay inay ang matagal ng DESERVE nya na BOX OFFICE QUEEN TITLE. sana nga lang maging FAIR na sila this time.. | by JOJO I'm just glad that we are all concerned of Marya's welfare when she does GBBT. My take is that, we should be thankful that our Christmas will be doubly merry and exciting because we will be getting a very nice gift -- seeing the Diamond Star in a movie during the most festive season of the year! Ako, excited na kasi as an avid fan of Hollywood movies (nagpapakatotoo lang po), may isang Pinoy movie akong aabangan sa Pasko dahil wala namang foreign film na ipinapalabas tuwing MMFF season. So for me, it is a GIFT that ngayon pa lang, gusto ko ng buksan! As for Maricel's participation in the movie, I am confident that Boss Vic, Shirley Kwan, Direk Wenn and even Vice Ganda himself will give the exposure and highlights that are due her, notwithstanding the respect and special treatment befitting a genuine Movie Queen and Diamond Star. Maricel is the banner girl for the adage "There are no small roles, only small actors" as proven in: 1. The Graduates - isang dosena silang Regal babies pero siya ang napansin at na-nominate sa Star Awards 2. Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow (1986) - kahit parang support lang sila ni Snooky kay Vilma Santos, lumutang at nakipagsabayan si Marya sa Star for All Seasons 3. Minsan, May Isang Ina - the late great Charito Solis had the titular role pero nakatatak sa lahat ang tapang ni Maricel na eksena por eksena ay pinantayan an galing ng Tita Chato niya at ng Superstar Nora Aunor 4. To Mama with Love - again, lahat ng pinakasikat na Regal babies ang nakasama ni MArya pero she outshone all of them with her heartfelt performance as the eldest daughter of Gloria Romero 5. Filipinas - di isang dosena sila doon? Pero Marya's tour de force performance earned her the MMFF 2003 and Luna Awards 2004 best actress trophies 6. Mano Po 1 - at di ba rin, isang dosena din silang artista dun, pero yung Vera Go portrayal niya ang peg ng pagiging scheming and bitchy hanggang ngayon? So there. We have nothing to fear because MAricel and Vice will work as a tandem and their tandem will be the selling point of the movie. Pustahan tayo, puro hallelujiah's ang masasambit ni Vice sa paggawa niya ng movie kasama ang idol niya. Finally, it is indeed a blessing in disguise that Marya did Oh My Mama Mia first because if it becomes a blockbuster (which is not far fetched), then her participation in another anticipated MMFF blockbuster that is GBBT will be truly valued since by that time, she shall have proven again her box-office clout via OMMM. Relax lang tayo. Kung yung iba limang taon ng hindi binibigyan ng movie project, si Marya nangre-reject pa nga ng offer and now, dalawa agad ang pasabog sa comeback niya! Cheers, Maricelians! | by emem We may have differences in opinions whether to voice out some suggestions to Viva or Direk Wenn. Pero ako ayoko munang pangunahan sila Direk Wenn, Viva and Marya lalo na at di pa naman nasisimulan ang film nila ni Vice at wala pa tayong alam sa plot nito. Focus muna tayo para sa ALL OUT SUPPORT for Oh My Mamma Mia nila ni Uge na mukhang maganda. Sa GBBT between now and December dami pang pwedeng mangyari - una nating ipagpray ay makapasok ito sa MMFF. Iba pa rin pag may MMFF entry si Marya. Unlike others, I actually look forward to GBBT because of possible exciting chemistry nila ni Vice sa screen PLUS an opportunity for Marya to be introduced sa younger fans ni Vice. I completely trust Marya na kahit nga napakaliit ng role eh pumapangibabaw pa rin ang galling niya. People here may not like Bahay Kubo but ask anyone who watched it and ang nagmamarka ay ang galing ni Maricel Soriano. And it may not be an excellent film but it is good and still worth your money. She always go beyond the flaws of her films because of her excellent performance. And yun pa lang SULIT na! What Maricel Soriano needs now is all our support for a very good comeback to prove once more that she is still a bankable star - the excellent and dream films we have for her WILL FOLLOW as soon as she is able to succeed with the next two films with a box-office success and exceptional performance. I really do like My GBBT as a title. It doesn't lessen the impact but instead add to the excitement as well. And if Viva has a good sense it wouldn't mind at all. Comment on this... | ||||
