Jared Hess, is from Preston, Idaho. Throughout high school and college, Hess worked as a camera assistant on feature films in Utah and California. He studied film at Brigham Young University where he met wife Jerusha and also made the award-winning short film PELUCA. PELUCA was chosen as one of 12 short films to compete in the shorts program at the 2003 Slamdance Film Festival. NAPOLEON DYNAMITE is Hess' first feature film. He is currently developing his next comedy feature.
