Kevin Heffernan

Kevin Heffernan is one fifth of the crispy comedy group that calls itself Broken Lizard. In addition to his work with Broken Lizard, Heffernan also writes and acts in films that lie outside of the Lizard's realm.

As part of Broken Lizard, Heffernan co-starred and co-wrote the cult hit Super Troopers, which premiered at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival and was released worldwide in February 2002. Besides earning more than $18 million at the box office, Super Troopers also found a massive audience in the home video market, selling over three million copies on DVD. Heffernan also costarred and co-wrote Club Dread, released in February 2004, and the award- winning Puddle Cruiser, the group's first film.

Beyond the pure Broken Lizard films, Heffernan co-wrote and co-starred in the feature version of The Dukes of Hazzard, which was directed by fellow Lizard Jay Chandrasekhar.

On the acting front, in addition to Dukes, Heffernan was recently seen in the family adventure Sky High, starring Kurt Russell and Kelly Preston. He recently wrapped production on Strange Wilderness, written and directed by Saturday Night Live writing alumni Fred Wolf and Peter Gaulke. The film centers around a team of struggling animal enthusiasts who head to the Andes in search of Bigfoot, and is set for a 2007 release.

As a writer, Heffernan recently co-wrote the comedy Preaching to the Choir, directed by Charles Randolph-Wright and starring Patti LaBelle, Tichina Arnold and Eartha Kitt. The film was released in spring 2006. Heffernan and Broken Lizard are currently at work writing another comedy, Nutcracker, a story about a nasty, washed-up NFL linebacker who turns to ballet to get his edge back.
