Bernard Miles, the actor/writer/impressario of the Mermaid and the Garrick Theatres used to bus down hopeful actors to London, to woo them into working for him. John was one such hopeful. John was just old enough to have done his military service (before we went over to a pro-army) and saw action in Cyprus. "It changes your outlook on life," he said, gruffly. "When I got back I decided to follow my heart and be an actor. You only live once, as a couple of my mates found out the hard way. They came home in bodybags." This was also the first time he met his future wife, Pauline, who was staying with Jean Marsh after having a baby, and, under pressure from Jean, herself a trained dancer, was doing the odd 'sickie-stint' in the dance lineup of the latest musical. We will have to tell you that we get our funds from local government individuals and people like you,but for the past 2 months we have lost contact with most of our sponsous so our mesure problem now is that we are running out of funds and there is a problem of food shortage and lack of treatment for the infected once and it is Christmas and they need to celabrate it. Please sir or madam we have come to you to seek for finnacial support so that it can enable us to make our initiative grow and to save the livies of this inocent children.Please no matter how much you give it will never be too small to save livies even if it is $10 we shall be very graetfull and God will reward you for your GOOD JOB. Please sir or madam help us and answer our cry for help while we will always put you in our prayers every nigth that we pray with this children befor they sleep. | by MARY SAVAGE PRIOR TO 2005 I'D NEVER HEARD OF JOHN ALDERTON. BY CHANCE I PURCHASED SOME DVD'S FROM PBS AND HAPPILY DISCOVERED WODEHOUSE PLAYHOUSE. NEXT CAME THOMAS AND SARAH AND I SHAN'T QUIT UNTIL I HAVE MORE ALTHOUGH IT IS NOT EASY TO HAVE SOME OF HIS EARLIER WORK AS IT IS NOT ON SALE. IN MY ENTIRE ENTERTAINMENT CAREER AS A CONSUMER I'VE ONLY KNOWN A HANDFULL OF TALENTED ONES I IDENTIFY WITH. JOHN IS ONE OF THEM. HIS ACTING IS ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS. ...MSAVAGE Comment on this... |
