Biography #2 (for Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle)
Kal Penn will be forever remembered for his hilarious portrayal of Taj, opposite Ryan Reynolds and Tara Reid in the comedy National Lampoon's Van Wilder. Penn was also seen in the hit comedy Malibu's Most Wanted with Jamie Kennedy. He also starred in Love Don't Cost a Thing, Warner Brothers' urban remake of the 1980's romantic comedy Can't Buy Me Love, released in late 2003. Additional feature film credits include a starring role in the independent film Where's the Party Yaar?, American Desi, American Made, Inmates of the Heart, Sueño and Freshmen.Born and raised in New Jersey, Penn trained extensively in theatre all over the New York metropolitan area. After graduating from high school, he moved to Los Angeles to continue his studies at the University of California. After his supporting role in HBO Films' Emmy-Award winning comedy Express: Aisle to Glory (1999), Penn went on to work on episodes of Spin City, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and The Steve Harvey Show. He was also a series regular on the ABC/Touchstone pilot Brookfield, and guest-starred on NYPD Blue, The Agency, Angel and That's Life. He also appeared on the East/West Players Stage in Los Angeles for the debut of the original play, Queen of the Remote Control.
Penn will next be seen in a co-starring role in the Disney feature film, A Lot Like Love, opposite Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet, as well as New Line Cinema's Son of the Mask with friend and co-star of Malibu's Most Wanted, Jamie Kennedy.
Penn attended UCLA and currently resides in Los Angeles.

Biography #3 (for Love Don't Cost A Thing)
Kal Penn has been incredibly busy with both television and movie projects. Penn was most recently seen in the feature Malibu's Most Wanted starring Jamie Kennedy, and in the comedy Van Wilder starring Ryan Reynolds and Tara Reid. On the small screen, Penn had a supporting role in the Emmy Award winning HBO Film Comedy Express: Aisle to Glory. He also has a part in the two-hour pilot for NBC's potential mid-season add Homeland Security. Penn's string of guest-starring appearances also include ER, The Agency, NYPD Blue, Angel, and That's Life to name a few.Penn studied at UCLA's School of Theatre, Film and Television and NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. He has extensive theatre credits that include The Dining Room with the George Street Playhouse, and well as several productions with the FPAC Theatre that include King Henry V, Boy Next Door and Runaways.
Penn can next be seen in Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle in the starring role of Kumar, and will join Jamie Kennedy in the highly anticipated sequel to The Mask, currently named The Untitled Mask Project, to be released in 2004.
