| by shikagonomimi I just rented "Onmyoji" and thought Sanada-san looked familiar. I don't get out much, so I haven't seen "Ringu" or "Last Samurai," but I did see him in "Twilight Samurai." However, I didn't realize it was the same actor in both "Onmyoji" and "Twilight Samurai" until I found this forum. Now, I'm doubly impressed. I wish I could have seen him in "King Lear." Besides Sanada-san, I'm very fond of the work of Yakusho Koji-san, Takenaka Naoto-san and Hada Michiko-san. It's a pity their work is not more widely known in the U.S. They are fabulous! | by esma I'm a TOM fanatic. so I watched the last samurai.(If somebody reads this message ;sorry for bad english, I'm a Turkısh) I hated UJIO after movıe, but one day (one years later ,may be more) he came to my dream and told me somethıng bad. I can't remember what he said, I was scared of him by what I see, cause I felt lıke I'M ALGREN-SAN .Then I starded to search about HIROYUKI and now waıtıng to find somethıng ınterestıng. | by annette mcmullin Twilight Samuari has the quiet development of story and character that makes it a classic. Too bad Hollywood doesn't have this movie as it's standard. | by katana i borrowed a book from our library last week... it's a small book, "Japan: The Fleeting Spirit" published by Thames & Hudson... i finished reading it yesterday & chapter 4 is about 'the way of the warrior', about samurais... i've just seen The Last Samurai on dvd this afternoon... | by sakurako He's really really brilliant in Last Samurai. I went into the cinema expecting to allow my eyes a good feast on Ken Watanabe as I heard that he's excellent (which is totally true as well, I loved his role and his acting), but ended up falling straight in love with this character. He caught my eye in the very second scene when they were riding back to the village...with the music, his hair let down, his riding, his strength and his charisma...I was totally awed and let him swallow my heart completely. it was perfect.
