Carl Anthony Payne was raised in Harlem and attended the Performing Arts High School in New York. His television credits include Martin and The Cosby Show, as well as guest starring roles in The George Lopez Show, The Hughleys and Quantum Leap, starring Scott Bakula.
In film, Payne co-wrote and starred in Swirl, an independent film produced by his own production company Alter Ego. He also appeared in The Breaks, Black and White, Two of a Kind and Overnight Delivery.
Payne graduated from Howard University and is a trained dancer in breakdancing, jazz and tap. He's also skilled in playing the trombone and piano. In his spare time, he enjoys daredevil activities, including riding motorcycles and parasailing.
Payne currently lives in Los Angeles with his family.
