Stephen Russell

A highly accomplished actor and veteran of more than twenty seasons at the Stratford Festival Theatre, Stephen has preformed in numerous productions and counts performances in RICHARD II and HENRY IV, among his title roles. Other Stratford appearances include roles in WINTER'S TALE, RICHARD III, GLASS MENAGERIE, CABARET and THE THREE MUSKETEERS. The Stratford 2003 season saw him play the role of the archdeacon Dom Claude Frolo, in the Festival's production of THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME.

He has entertained theatre audiences in both Canada and the United States, appearing in MACBETH in New York, and THE MERCHANT OF VENICE in Costa Mesa, California. At the conclusion of the Stratford 2003 season, Stephen will head to New York once again, where he will appear in Christopher Plummer's KING LEAR, at the Lincoln Center.

His film and television performances include appearances in Timothy Findley's THE WARS, PATHFINDER, DIAMONDS, COUNTERSTRIKE, SWEATING BULLETS and A FAMILY OF COPS, starring Charles Bronson. He lives in Stratford, Ontario with his wife Astrid and two children, Andrew and Isabelle.
