| by Matthew Quest Anybody who saw Evan Parke in Cider House Rules with Toby MacGuire, Michael Caine and Delroy Lindo should recognize him as an emerging phenomenon. Perhaps the best script he has had to work with thus far, he clearly has the potential and presence to play in historical epics and dramas with political context provoking philosophical reflection. A man of Caribbean descent, a athletic physical presence, he could easily play a Toussaint L'Ouverture, Paul Bogle, or CLR James--all worthy of dramatic accounts. Perhaps a one man play portraying one or more of these icons would catapult him to the stellar reaches which is his destiny. Comment on this... |
