Biography #2 (for Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen)

Alison Pill has established herself as an intelligent, levelheaded, talented actress. With a repertoire that rivals most actresses twice her age, her unforgettable performances have garnered praise from critics.

Pill most recently starred in the feature films Pieces of April with Katie Holmes and Patricia Clarkson and she has just completed work on Thomas Vinterberg's Dear Wendy. Other film credits include Perfect Pie with Wendy Crewson and The Life Before This.

In 2000, Pill was awarded the Best Young Actress Award for her work in The Dinosaur Hunter at the Burbank Festival. Pill has also received Golden Sheaf and Young Artist Award nominations for portrayal of a young dancer in Degas and the Dancer.

Pill has also appeared in numerous films for television including Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows, Baby, Midwives, Fast Food High, What Girls Learn, The Other Me, What Katy Did, Locked in Silence, and Dear America: A Journey to the New World. She has also lent her voice to the animated series Redwall, Anatole, and Braceface.

Alison Pill is set to star in the Thomas Vinterberg film Dear Wendy and has recently completed work on Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. Pill has garnered much critical acclaim for her wide variety of roles in projects such as Baby, Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows, Midwives, Song for the Season, Louis Braille, and The Life Before This, which was shown at the Toronto and Berlin International Film Festivals.

In November of 2000, Pill was awarded the Best Young Actress Award for her work in The Dinosaur Hunter at the Burbank Festival. The film Degas and the Dancer earned Pill a Golden Sheaf and Young Artist Award nomination.

Pill's small screen experience includes the telefilms Fast Food High, What Girls Learn, The Other Me, What Katy Did, Locked in Silence, and Dear America: A Journey to the New World, as well as lending her voice to the animated series Redwall, Anatole, and Braceface.
