Karl Shiels

Karl Shiels trained at Dublin's Gaiety School of Acting. His numerous stage roles include: The Beloved, As Is, Guys and Dolls, Hamlet, Venus and Adonis, The Duchess of Malfi, This Lime Tree Bower, Obituary, The Spanish Tragedy, Greek, Howie the Rookie, Comedians (winner Best Actor at 1999 Dublin Theatre Festival), Salome, Twenty Grand, At Swim-Two-Birds and The Barbaric Comedies. His film and television credits include Daybreak, Freaky Deaky 10 to 1, Clubbing, Getting Close, Private Lives, Ninety, Mossey's Night, Ecstatically Defunct, On Home Ground, Attachments, Any Time Now and Mystics. He has directed the stage plays Conversations with a Cupboard Man, Laughing Till I Die, The Pitchfork Disney, Fallen, Three Tall Women and Meeting Ché Guevara.
