A 1994 graduate of Sydney's Theatre Nepean, Edgerton is one of Australia's most sought-after young male leads. He established a solid career on the stage after graduation, attracting attention with highly praised performances in Bell Shakespeare Company's Henry IV and Henry V as Prince Hal and King Henry and a number of appearances with the Sydney Theatre Company (Love for Love, Third World Blues, Dead White Males, Blackrock). Film roles include Owen in Star Wars, Episode 2: Attack of the Clones (2002), Leo in John Curran's Praise (1998) and Wayne in Erskineville Kings (1998) alongside Hugh Jackman. Edgerton has appeared in a number of Australian television series including Wildside, Water Rats and most recently Network Ten's The Secret Life of Us, in which he plays regular character Will.
Next up for Edgerton is Ned Kelly opposite co-star Griffiths and Heath Ledger, Orlando Bloom and Geoffrey Rush. He will begin shooting Star Wars, Episode III later this year.
