Ye Liu
A rising star in China, Liu Ye has acted in eleven films, including Postman in the Mountains, Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress, The Lover from the Heavens, and Purple Butterfly. Many of his films have been nominated for awards at international film festivals. In 2001, Liu Ye won the Golden Horse for Best Actor for his portrayal of the title character in Lan Yu, a film about a homosexual college student enamored with an older businessman. His fan base and box office success extends well beyond China to Korea, Japan, and even France, where Lan Yu was nominated for a Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival.
