Dennie Gordon
Gordon most recently wrapped production on her third feature, New York Minute for Warner Bros. Filmed on location in New York City and Toronto, New York Minute tells the tale of two sisters, played by Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, on the most challenging day of their lives. Also starring Eugene Levy, Andy Richter, and Darrell Hammond, New York Minute promises to be another laughfest. The film is set to open in May 2004.
Gordon also developed and directed the hit comedy What A Girl Wants, released by Warner Bros. in April of 2003. Starring Amanda Bynes, Colin Firth, Kelly Preston and Dame Eileen Atkins, what a girl wants was shot on location in London and Morocco.
Gordon first gained recognition when her script for A Hard Rain was chosen for production in the esteemed Discovery Program. Thanks to Steven Spielberg, a rough cut of her film attracted the attention of George Lucas, who donated the film's sound mix at Skywalker Ranch. Based on a short story by Andre Dubus II, A Hard Rain went on to win dramatic awards at the British Short Film Festival and the Hampton's Film Festival and was developed into the Oscar nominated In The Bedroom.
A Hard Rain caught the eye of David E. Kelley, who enlisted Gordon to helm multiple episodes of his television series including Picket Fences, Chicago Hope, The Practice and Ally McBeal. Gordon has directed multiple episodes of such critically acclaimed series as Sports Night, Party of Five, and won the prestigious DGA Comedy Directing Award for directing HBO's series Tracey Takes On. Gordon helmed the television pilots for Kevin Williamson's Glory Days, and Conan O'Brien's Beat Cops. She is currently developing her next comedic feature, Dating Nick McBride for Warner Bros.
Gordon currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband and son.
