| by Ailini Steen Hey Everlyn, i hope you can get a chance to read this I saw your film when it first came out with my mum and we both cried. Now i'm studying it for an aboriginal literature class at uni. I thought that this being about the third or fourth time seeing it that i would become void of any emotion. But i had more of a reaction to it now because it made me realise that after about five years of RPF being released we haven't really come to any resolution for the Stolen Generations in Australia. I think it was another poster that highlighted the fact that australia has no treaties, canada and usa have over 250? I think that its such a shame especially in this day and age, and i remember going to bed being quite angry about the situation. Despite all the political riff raff that you might hear from conservative politicians in Australia i think that there is a genuine want from most australians, like myself, for resolution or a type of healing for those affected by the Stolen Generations. And i think your performance and just you being who you are has contributed to a film that many will continue to see and i hope it educates and changes peoples perceptions about australia's past. You know a film is good when you can't stop thinking about it and i suppose it has lead me to write this message to you. I also wanted to say that i think you have a wonderful spirit both on screen and in person (i watched the behind the scenes footage! great viewing!). I hope that whatever path you chose that you suceed in it because you deserve it. Cheers Girl! Ailini x Adelaide, SA p.s sorry for the long posting, just wanted to know what it was like working with Rachel Maza and Ningali Lawford they seemed like cool people! Comment on this... | ||||

| by steven myles i'm a college student at Howard University in Washington, DC, USA and they showed RPF. The audience's reaction was astounding. i had already seen, owned, and had been telling people about the film. It's as strong as you all made it! Simply AWEsome. Just as you infected us on screen (even across the Pacific in the USA) you can touch anyone anywhere you go so keep your light and keep inspiring no matter where life leads you. Comment on this... |

| by jack (black jack) black girl your rpf performance with your friends was inspirational - loved the way your little sister and your cousin put their hands in yours and you took on the system - the guts shown on film seemed so real since then as an independent young super black girl you're even better - it seems to me you know where you've been and where you're going - i read your interviews over and over - they are increasingly inspirational i want to meet your grandma in the dream time as a 67 yo shrink i'm trying to learn and implement the rpf lessons you portrayed in rpf: "shut up, think, decide, swim against the current, etc." black girl I have met you and lots of your friends in the dream time - hope to do so again and again and never stop love you Comment on this... | |||||||||

| by MCP2012 I'm pressed for time at the moment. Would like to write more soon. Everlyn, I admire you tremendously. I'm old enough to be your father (born in 1958), so I can't help but feel a fatherly affection, even adoration, for you. You did a magnificent job in *Rabbit Proof Fence*, as did the rest of the entire cast & crew. It should've won several Oscars that year. Shame on the (American) Academy for not so honoring it. I'm glad you're focusing on school. I'm glad that, hopefully, your reading skills are now up to par, as there is a lot of good literature out there for you to enjoy. Whether you ever do any more movie-acting, you performance in RPF will forever shine! Please contact me, if you wish, at my e-mail provided. I should be honored & delighted if we could become e-mail pen-pals. In any event, I wish you all happiness, success, fulfillment & self-actualization. Respectfully & sincerely yours always MCP2012 Comment on this... |
