| by Lee Williams Hello Everlyn. I saw "Rabbit Proof Fence" when it first came out and was greatly impressed by your performance as well as that of the whole cast. Some of my favourite actors were in the movie, including Kenneth Branagh. I used to go to school with your Mum, Glenys in Geraldton. I see that she also had a role in the movie. Helen Walton, Sarah Edland and I are organising a school reunion for our class and would like to get in contact with your Mum and her cousin Merle. Please ask her to send her contact details to PO Box 3328 Yokine WA 6060. Many thanks Comment on this... |

| by Louis Boucher Hello Everlyn, I'm a French Canadian living in Montreal. A few weeks ago, I saw Rabbit-Proof Fence (the French version) on television, and I intend to buy that magnificent and very moving film as soon as possible. Never before had I seen so much courage, love and determination in children. And all those stolen generations! This is something I wasn't aware of. What a shame for the Australian government, which, in my opinion, should publicly acknowldege the facts (instead of trying to play them down) and apologize. But it hasn'd done so, so far, not to the best of my knowledge. This is what makes Cathy Freeman and all the Aborigines - whose ancestors moreover, had been present in Australia for thousands of years before the arrival of Europeans - sad and angry, and I fully understand them. Pope John Paul II did have the courage and honesty to publicly apologize for the past errors and mistakes of the Catholic Church. I wonder why the Australian government doesn't have the same courage and honesty.... I liked all the actors playing in that movie, but the one I liked the most is you, Everlyn. I've a lot of admiration for you and for all the Aborigines. I would love to meet some one day. Maybe if I travel to Australia.... Have a nice day! One of your Canadian admirers. | by Dennis I saw the "Rabbit-Proof Fence" movie a couple of weeks ago. The story and Everlyn's portrayal of young Molly really moved me. I'm reading the book now. The way the Whites treated the Aboriginal people at that time was really horrible and so reminescent of apartied and American segregationism, but, in some ways, it was worse for children. I had really hoped that Everlyn, Tianna Sansbury, and Laura Monaghan would have continued their acting careers because they were so convincing in the movie. But maybe it was not to be. | by Gabrielle I just saw Rabbit Proof Fence on IFC (Direct TV) Thank you for being part of the many people to bring this shameful act to the publics attention. We talk about the shame of slavery in the USA, and people here are not aware of the slavery forced on many other people and nations. Your performance was very moving. I hope you will continue to be part of bringing atrocities to the attention of the world. God bless you and yours, and stay humble and honest, it will communicate through your life and life choices. I am studying to become an actor and hope to be part of such quality work as this production is. I hope I can tell important stories with the honesty and beauty that was portrayed in this film.
