David R. Ellis

David R. Ellis has made a name for himself as one of the most sought-after second unit action directors in Hollywood, with over 30 years of experience as a stuntman, stunt coordinator and second unit director. His extensive feature credits as second unit director include Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World; The Matrix Reloaded; Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone; Rock Star; The Perfect Storm; Deep Blue Sea; The Negotiator; Desperate Measures; The Devil's Own; Waterworld; Clear and Present Danger; Made in America; Sliver; Forever Young; and Thunderheart, among many others.

Ellis made his directorial debut with the family adventure comedy Homeward Bound II - Lost in San Francisco. His directorial credits include Final Destination 2, Cellular, Snakes on a Plane and Asylum. He is currently in pre-production on the features Six Days Till Midnight and Humpty Dumpty.

A Malibu, California native, Ellis began his film industry career performing water stunts on the family feature Superdad, starring Kurt Russell. This led to a career as one of Hollywood's most prominent stuntmen/stunt coordinators, with credits including such blockbusters as Fatal Attraction, The Addams Family and Patriot Games. Ellis was one of the first five stunt coordinators inducted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
