He later moved to Vancouver to study acting, writing and directing at the Vancouver Film School. Cherry began his acting career in commercials before making his television debut on the made-for-television movie Til Dad Do Us Part. Other television credits include MGM/Trilogy's Outer Limits and the WB's My Guide to Becoming a Rock Star.
