| by Mary Jo Wagner I'd like make Brazilians' dreams come true. We want Barry Manilow in Brazil. Barry said in his album BARRY MANILOW SPECIAL: "Dear Brazilians friends. I'm very happy because finally recorded my first record in Portuguese for you. During my first and only visit to Brazil in 1976, I remember sitting in a bank of the beautiful beach of Copacabana, imagining that "Copacabana" could be a great title for a song. It did not take long and soon my colleagues and I were writing the song "Copacabana". As you can see we already have at least one story in common. Singing these five songs in Portuguese has been a challenge, especially for a guy from Brooklyn (New York). I hope you forgive me the errors of pronunciation. So what is worth the feeling, right? I am anxious for visiting your country as soon as possible and sincerely I hope this LP is only the beginning of a great friendship. Have fun! I’m brazilian leaving in Sao Paulo and I’m 45 now and I consider you since a dearest friend. I remember when I first heard in the radio your music MANDY and I instantaneously fall in love for the melody and for your voice; even not knowing English and having no idea what the lyrics was meaning, I listened it over and over, and so with all of your songs. This inspired me to learn English in my teens, because I wish from the deep of my heart learn what the message those lyrics was saying. I have to confess that your songs are part of my life. They make me laugh in the good times and they comfort me in the bad ones. I’m proud to say I’m your Fan, I’m a “FANILOW” and only now I had the opportunity to be part of your fan club! | by Patti Nieman To whom it may concern, My name is patti Nieman. I met Barry Manilow back in 1983. Over the years we lost touch and I lost his phone number. Just five weeks ago my heart stopped and I flatlined for 10 seconds. A week later I flatlined again. My doctor had a hard time keeping my heart going. He told me that if it happened again I might not survive. I don't know if you whoever you are, can help me, but I need to contact Barry Manilow. I need moral support from my long ago friend. His fan club will not help me even though they know I know him. They told me they would never give him a message like that.
