comment on role in 'The pianist' (Sun Apr 29, 2007 9:38pm ET)report post

What a formidable performance! The way Julia acts is estounishing impressive. So realistic how she has grown out of a 'logic lawyer' who asks her family-members for 'order', into a very sensitive, overwhelmed young woman by the nazi's terror. Her dramatical changings are worked out and expressed in this great, unforgettable movie, to my opinion, the best! For instance the way how she reacts when a german officer hurries into their barrack and yells his orders, which seems to blow her on her feet, as if taken by an unvisable wind. Also the way how she is sobbing, her great expressions of being completely desperately, completely lost, completely broken, just before their train-transportation. It is striking how realistic she acted. Just as if you are going back in the real past. Great acting of others, great filming and working out of the scripts. But her acting is as not-acting, expressing dramatical reality. A writer of a book, a novel etc. could be jealous about such a striking worked-out and realistic character, as if she was a real living person. Thanks to the great Julia Rayner!
