Her notable telefilm appearances include Bob Brooks' The Knowledge (for Emmy Award-winning producer Verity Lambert); Alan Parker's The Evacuees and Re-Joyce; and the starring role of Shani Whittle in Piers Haggard's BAFTA Award-nominated Eskimo Day and its sequel Cold Enough for Snow.
Lipman's stage credits include playing Aunt Eller in Trevor Nunn's acclaimed National Theatre staging of Oklahoma! (later videotaped for a television airing); and playing Peggy Ramsay in Peggy for You (staged by Robin Lefevre). She starred in the West End productions of Lost in Yonkers and The Sisters Rosensweig; and in several seasons at the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
