| by Yolonda Singleton I am not a fan of the rap genre and therefore I am not thrilled when I see rap artists on the big screen. However, after seeing Brown Sugar and Showtime, I found myself asking, "Who is that?" The answer was, "Mos Def." He certainly brings a strong presence to the screen. He's confident, yet not cocky. He carries his own weight and gives off a few laughs on his own. I say that anybody who can stand in a scene next to Robert DeNiro and not blend into the wall, deserves a second look.
