Stephen Gaghan Forum

| by Gloria Gaghan Hamilton Steve wasn't born in Lousiville. He was born in Phildadelphia in late 1963 or early 1964 in Pennsylvania Hospital. His father was my brother (who died when Steve was @16)), also named Stephen Gaghan. (The "Stephen" comes from my own father's passion for James Joyce. He was reading "Portrait of the Artist" just prior to my brother's birth.) My brother, Steve, was more than 15 years older than I, but since I married relatively early (19) and Steve married relatively late, to Betty Jane Wharton--from Tennessee--Steve has a first cousin who is 7 - 10 months younger than he. I don't feel like trawling thu the net to get his email address, but if you have it, do pass along the following: Steve, if you're curious about your father--talents, idiosyncrasies, etc., I can fill in some background stuff that you might find amusing/interesting. Same applies to your paternal grandparents, who were (a) exceptionally bright, and (b) exceptionally eccentric. Don't panic about having a long lost relative turn up on your doorstep. I do something far less chic than cocaine--I smoke cigarettes, and I regard the entire state of California as a no-go area. Also, I'm an active member of the Irish Labour Party, and brief visits back to Philadelphia have taught me that espousal of Socialist policies in medicine, education, taxation, etc., are unlikely to win friends and influence--well, almost anyone. Did see "Traffic" and was interested to see how you adapted the original European co-production, which had a strong impact on me, and was partially respsonsible for my developing a policy document on illegal drugs for the Labour Party. Good luck--Gloria Comment on this... |
