Biography #2 (for My Wife is an Actress)

Born on January 4, 1965 in Tel Aviv, Attal grew up in France in the suburbs of Paris. An actor for over a dozen years, MY WIFE IS AN ACTRESS is his first feature film as a director. Attal made his screen debut in 1989 in Eric Rochant's UN MONDE SANS PITIE which earned him the1990 Cesar for Best New Actor. His other films include RĂ©gis Franc's MAUVAISE FILLE (1990) , Eric Rochant's AUX YEUX DU MONDE (1991) and LES PATRIOTES (1991), Jacques Doillon's AMOUREUSE (1991), Diane Kurys' APRES L'AMOUR (1991), Martine Dugowson's PORTRAITS CHINOIS (1995), Denis Amar's SARAKA BO (1996), Marion Vernoux's LOVE ETC. (1996), Didier Goldschmidt's ALISSA (1997), Vincent Ravalec's CANTIQUE DE LA RACAILLE (1997), Michael Winterbottom's WITH OR WITHOUT ME (1998), Michel Hazanavicius' MES AMIS (1998), Julian Simpson's THE CRIMINAL (1999), Alexandre Jardin's LE PROF (1999) and, most recently, Claude Lelouch's AND NOW LADIES AND GENTLEMEN (2001). Yvan is married to Charlotte Gainsbourg.
