Yeah she certainly has the qualities of a BACALSO. As most of my cousins livin in Cebu Inc myself are all of dark complexion. Thats a true BACALSO trait according to the our grandparents. Not to mention...good looking. Check our clan out in Pardo region Cebu City..The Bacalso crew are very predominant there.

If i'm correct, ur father was the one whom i met by chance at Sydney olympics at the Mcdonalds below the Ibis hotel, olympic park. He asked if im pinoy, after tellin him im from Cebu Pardo, the last name being Bacalso, and mentioned my late father's name, well...hehehe It all went from there. Your uncle is Jojo Bacalso, your cousins wid Jomar right??I was in cebu May last yr to attend Tiyo Sid's funeral. I met all of the clan there man. Catch ya up through our private email address man.

Neat, i guess this means that its time for you to go back to find your roots. Nothin makes me prouder than to know where i came from. Some fillos tho i've met are in denial of their heritage. Although some have only been in Aust for a short while, e.g max 3yrs, and claim they can't speak the BISAYA!! I've been here for 27yrs now and still proud to be a Pinoy, and go back home every year. Home is where the happiness is for me bro. So i fully aggree with what you are tryin to do, good on ya. Somhow we are related, go back and find more out about our clan. You'd be amazed. PINOY PRIDE!!

Beautiful Filipina (Tue Sep 5, 2006 2:04am ET)report post
by Tremayne C. Bailey
Joanna is by far the prettiest filipina I've ever seen. I've known a lot of filipino women here in Colorado, and she has them all beat. If I were to ever think about being involoved with another Asian woman, I would get with her, but for now I feel that my Filipina wife is the last one for me. There are just too many hangups with the filipino culture that I don' t want to be a part of anymore. By the way, native filipinos orginate from Africa as Pygmy's brought over to Asia by the way of African trading during the time of the Ancient Egyptians. The voodoo that the filipinos engage in is the same as that in the Caribbean, and Africa. Filipinos are part African. European dominance is what has caused many cultures not to see the origins of their history.

Hmmm, well stumbled across this by accident. Looking from another site and tripped across Jo Bacalso. Read a couple of the posts. Seems like a couple of people are right on, while a couple are off.

She could be dark because the truly native people of the Philippines are a dark skinned race. They actually look just like native Africans only smaller stature (at least the ones located in Zambales). The result of lighter skinned people is course the result of centuries of migration by other races, as has happened everywhere.

Of course the second result is that she is actually is 1/2 African-American, nothing to be ashamed of in the USA, but a burden to a dark mixed child in the Philippines. Quite a few women (and men) that mixed with US servicemembers produced a lot of children that were later accepted by family members over in the PI.
