Biography #2

Ian Gomez joins the fourth season of Felicity as a regular cast member. For the past three years, Gomez has delighted audiences with his recurring role as Javier, the openly gay manager of the local coffeehouse where Felicity (Keri Russell) and Ben (Scott Speedman) work.

A familiar face to television audiences, Gomez concurrently starred on two other primetime series during his time on Felicity. For two seasons, he was a regular cast member opposite Norm Macdonald on Norm, and had a recurring role as the shamelessly self-promoting Larry on The Drew Carey Show.

Gomez's decision to focus on acting began as a member of the famed Second City comedy group where he spent seven years. He made weekly appearances at Chicago's ImprovOlympics developing his improvisational skills, which were showcased when he guest starred on the hit series Whose Line Is It Anyway?

Ian's other television credits include guest-starring roles on Murphy Brown, Melrose Place, Married...with Children and Smart Guy, and the recently completed television movie Get a Clue.

On the big screen, he has appeared in features including Ed TV, the independent feature Courting Courtney, Meet Prince Charming, Till There Was You, Rookie of the Year and Excessive Force.

A self-proclaimed Russian-Puerto Rican-Jewish-Greek Orthodox born and raised in Manhattan, N.Y., Gomez credits diversity as a key to his success. He is married to Second City actress Nia Vardalos, whose acclaimed one-person show My Big Fat Greek Wedding is in production as a feature film. The play is based on the story of the couple's wedding and Ian's introduction into his wife's family.

Ian and Nia currently reside in Los Angeles, California.
