Clifton Davis

Clifton Davis is best-known for his role as the Rev. Reuben Gregory on the popular NBC television series, Amen. He most recently appeared in the feature films Kingdom Come and Any Given Sunday. In addition, Davis has been a regular on the hit TV series' That's My Mama and Amen, as well as starring in his own series, The Melba Moore-Clifton Davis Show.

In 1971, Davis received a Grammy nomination for his number-one song, Never Can Say Goodbye, which sold more than 2 million copies for The Jackson 5. As a recording artist, Davis enjoyed success with his recent gospel album Say Amen on Benson Record, and he can be heard on his nationally-syndicated gospel radio program, It's a Celebration.

Davis served as Honorary Membership Chairman of the National PTA from 1989-91. He earned a BA in Theology in 1984 from Oakwood College in Huntsville, Alabama, and a Master of Divinity degree from Andrews University in 1987. He has also received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. Davis has two children: a son, Noel, and a daughter, Holly.
