| by Harley Mercer I heard Patti live in Seattle for the first time two weeks ago and, well, I was very unimpressed. I'm hoping she was just sick (she coughed and cleared her throat several times during the first two songs). Too often her pitch was off and she rarely fully reached her high notes. | by Bob Hertzog Patti Lapone comes across in concert as very affected and phony. For my taste in singers in American Musical Theatre, she comes accross as a " screamer ". Her voice is shrill and whiney with very little contrast and hard on the ears. Her selection of songs is strange and off beat. Comment on this... | ||||
