Jerzy Zielinski

JERZY ZIELINKSI was the cinematographer of the award-winning hit comedy Galaxy Quest. Other feature films include The Third Miracle, Teaching Mrs. Tingle, Home Fries and Washington Square. He also shot Powder, Houseguest, Paradise and Swing Kids.

Very recently he completed work on the comedy Cletis Tout, starring Tim Allen and Richard Dreyfuss.

Zielinski has worked with Irish director Pat O'Connor on Fools of Fortune and January Man, and with O'Connor and David Putnam on Stars and Bars and Cal, Zielinski's first shoot outside his native Poland. He received international recognition for his work on Shivers, which was presented at the New York Film Festival and also won the Special Jury Award at the 1982 Berlin Film Festival.

Zielinski's first feature as a cinematographer, Aria for an Athlete, received the Best Cinematography Award at the 1979 Festival of Polish Feature Films in Gdansk. His other credits include the American Playhouse production In the Shallow Grave, and Little Surprises, a short movie directed by Jeff Goldblum, which was a 1996 Academy Award nominee for Best Live Action Short.
