Michael Rymer
Australian born Michael Rymer received instant acclaim with his first feature film, Angel Baby, which he wrote and directed. The film won seven Australian Film Institute Awards for Best Film, Director, Original Screenplay, Actor, Actress, Photography and Editing. It also won four Australian Film Critics Circle Awards, the Writers Guild of Australia Award for Best Original Screenplay, the Gijon (Spain) International Film Festival Award for Best Director, the Australian Human Rights Commission Award for Best Film, as well as several other awards and distinctions.
Most recently Rymer wrote and directed Perfume, starring Paul Sorvino, Jeff Goldblum, Peter Gallagher, Rita Wilson, and Estella Warren, which premiered at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival. Other credits include the award-winning In Too Deep starring Omar Epps, LL Cool J, Stanley Tucci and Pam Grier and Allie & Me starring Dyan Cannon and Harry Hamlin.
