How could such promise wind up on Kangaroo Jack ?

Jeesh, "Things To Do" was/is brilliant. The story, the language, the charactors. A real gem. Such a propitious start, that allowances for sub-caliber work have to be expected. It's understood and appreciated that you can't get this stuff every time out, but from Denver to Kangaroo with nothing even close in between, what gives here ?

I'm disappointed, but more so, I'm hungry. Come on Scott. Go pick a fight with Mamet. Do something , PLEASE !

What about beautiful girls? high fidelity? Con air was pretty cool, too. I also heard he did rewrites on Spiderman, Runaway jury and armageddon... so it's not like it was just the kangaroo.
