Danny Leiner

Danny Leiner directed the feature film at the epicenter of our pop cultural zeitgeist, Dude, Where's My Car? He has also directed a wide range of quality television including Everwood, Gilmore Girls, Freaks and Geeks, Sports Night, Felicity, Action, The Tick, MTV's Austin Stories and HBO's Mind of the Married Man.

Leiner's roots are in the New York independent film scene, where he wrote and directed the award-winning short film Time Expired (starring John Leguizamo and Edie Falco), the HBO drama Flashback and The Shooting Gallery feature film, Layin' Low (starring Edie Falco and Jeremy Piven).

In 2002, Leiner founded Sly Dog Films with producing partner, Matt Tauber. Sly Dog's mandate is to develop and produce a wide spectrum of feature films, collaborate with emerging writers and directors, and shepherd passion projects. Sly Dog's first film out of the gate is The Great New Wonderful, which Leiner recently completed directing. Currently in post-production, the film stars Maggie Gyllenhaal, Tony Shalhoub and Olympia Dukakis and is a tale of alienation and loneliness, redemption and catharsis, played out in five darkly comedic and surprising New York stories.
