Robert Jan Westdijk
Robert Jan Westdijk (1964), graduated from the Dutch Film & Television Academy in 1987. Since then he has been a freelance director and editor for several Dutch Broadcasting companies and made the short film RED LENS (1993, 16mm, 8 min). GROTE BROER FILMWERKEN (BIG BROTHER FILMWORKS) was formed by Robert Jan Westdijk and Clea de Koning (1968), a former law student and freelance theatre production worker. Unusually for a Dutch feature, LITTLE SISTER was made without any form of subsidy from the Dutch government or investment by broadcasting companies or established prodcution companies. The money was raised through a limited partnership, sponsorship of goods and services and deferred payments. At the time of shooting, everyone involved with the production was under 30 years old.
