A product of America's heartland, Johnson was raised in Sioux City, Iowa, where he lived with his mother and two brothers. For a short time his family lived in Denver, Colo., during his high school years, which is where his dream to become an actor came to life. Similar to his character on Popular, Johnson was the captain of the varsity soccer team and co-captain of the school's golf team when he was bitten by the acting bug.
Shortly after graduating high school, Johnson packed his belongings into the back of his car and headed for Los Angeles. He landed a series starring role in The WB pilot Saving Graces last spring, but when that series didn't make the schedule, he was tapped for Popular. He also appeared in five episodes of the new MTV comedy Undressed.
Johnson currently resides in Hollywood. When not working, he enjoys playing all sports, especially golf, beach volleyball and football.
