In college Perrette studied sociology, psychology and criminal science and graduated with honors. Following school, Perrette tended bar in New York City while doing commercials, voice-overs, music videos and short films. She later moved to Los Angeles, and has since steadily worked in film, television and voice-overs.
Born in New Orleans, Perrette lives in Los Angeles with her husband, musician Coyote Shivers, and a menagerie of animals. She is a poet and spoken-word artist, a music fanatic and a published writer and photographer.
