Biography #2 (for Aeon Flux)

Director Karyn Kusama wrote and directed the critically acclaimed film, Girlfight, which won numerous awards, including the 2000 Grand Prize at the Deauville Film Festival, the Director's Award and the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival; and, the Youth Award at the Cannes Film Festival. Girlfight was also nominated in 2001 for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Feature Film.

Biography #3 (for Girlfight)

A native of St. Louis, Karyn Kusama is a graduate of the film program at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Her thesis film, Sleeping Beauties, won a Mobil award in 1991. Girlfight is her first feature film.

Kusama is working on what she calls a bio-fiction thriller which she also plans to direct. She is currently finishing the screenplay with co-writer Christopher Peroni.
