Bijou Phillips Biography (3)

The multi-talented Bijou Phillips has led an unusual life. She spent her childhood in New York, California and South Africa. She excelled at equestrienne sport. When she was 13, she became a model to escape boarding school and landed on the cover of Interview Magazine and shortly thereafter became the youngest model to ever appear on the cover of Italian Vogue. Bijou appeared in several campaigns for Calvin Klein. She acquired a record deal with Almo Sounds at 17 and began work on her debut album ‘I'd Rather Eat Glass'. She was cast in Black and White by director James Toback and garnered nothing but glowing praise from critics for her performance in it. Bijou has continued to make films including Almost Famous and most recently a stunning performance in controversial film maker Larry Clark's Bully, which led the Hollywood Reporter to name her one of the year's Shooting Stars of tomorrow.
