Dear Mr. Levin:

I read today that your father, who was another hard working documentary producer, has passed away.

I know that your career has been a blessing to your father, because your work continued his footsteps, which shows your respect for his work through your own work.

My heart is with you at this time. Despite political differences, empathy for all is hopefully something that all people have to a greater or less extent. I know your pain at this time, and I will pray for you and your family's future happiness.

Good luck you to in your time of sorrow and loss.

I have seen only a small portion of his work and what i've seen im not impressed with. The work I speak of is Whiteboyz. Stupid. What can I say? Ive seen some of his documentary's ( Gang bangin in Little Rock) and thought, who cares. Atleast it was done well, even if the subject matter was'nt to my taste. He should stick with that, give up making movies for public consumption.

I would like to find out the proper name of the documentary Mr. Levin did on the prison system, and how I can buy a copy of it.

Okay! Please tell "Big Darrow" I have been trying to find her for years! I used to spend time with Yank and her at the Gramercy Park flat. I haven't spoken to her since 1972. I would love to reconnect. I am still living in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I check this site on a regular basis in the hope of reconnecting with Big Darrow. It's so cool, you both have the same name. Yank told me he was so impressed with the work of Clarence Darrow, that he named his daughter in honour of the famous attorney! I hope all of you are happy and in good health. Best Regards.

Jean, as an afterthought, did you live on Irving Place. Did you have a dog...an Irish Setter, I believe?

I just found this site today and don't think I ever answered -- yes, I lived on Irving Place, had an Irish Setter and lived with Yank at times on Gramercy Park. I ran into Darrow once years ago when she recognized me and jumped out of a van to stop me. Wrote my number on a matchbook so that she could call me and promptly lost it. I never found her -- someone gave me her new married name and I sent a card but never heard anything so I don't know if she ever got it. I do have photos of Yank but no longer have any of his work. Amazing that so many people still miss him after all of these years -- he'd be amused by that.

Jean:
No. I never heard from Darrow. I know Yank is dead, but I would at least like to have a picture of him or one of his stained glass works. He was the only father figure I had when I was a young girl growing up in NYC. (1960's)
How can you and I connect?
