Graduate of the Carnegie Institute of Technology [now Carnegie-Mellon University] School of Fine Arts [theater department], class of 1962. Classmate of Renee Auberjonois, Ferris Buck, David Dozer, Tom Lizzio, Robald Satlof, Frank Parker, Aubrey Wilson, and Alice Gauley, among others. Father was a career army officer. Served in Brazil with the Peace Corps.
