Mykelti Williamson made a breakout appearance in the Academy Award winning film Forrest Gump, in which he starred opposite Tom Hanks. His touching performance in the pivotal role of Bubba earned him critical acclaim.

He can currently be seen starring in The Hoop Life, a new drama series airing on Showtime that takes a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of professional basketball players on and off the court.

Williamson's additional film credits include Primary Colors, Species ll, Con Air, Truth or Consequences, Heat, Waiting to Exhale, Free Willy, Free Willy 2: The Adventure Home and How to Make an American Quilt.
