Fredro Starr
Actor and rap artist Fredro Starr earned a CableACE nomination as Best Supporting Actor for his acting debut in Forest Whitaker's award-winning HBO drama Strapped. He has since appeared in the films Sunset Park, Ride, Clockers and The Addiction. He co-starred opposite pop superstar Usher in the drama Light It Up and performed one of the soundtrack's songs (Ghetto's a Battlefield) with the duet Blaze & Firestarr.
On the small screen, the renowned rap artist has a recurring role on Moesha and guest-starred on such series as N.Y.P.D. Blue, Promised Land, Law & Order and New York Undercover.
Starr hails from Queens, N.Y. Prior to his acting career, he co-founded the platinum-selling hip-hop recording group Onyx. Their debut release, Bacdafucup, went platinum in 1993. The rappers have also recorded the albums All We Got Iz Us and Shut 'Em Down. Starr's first solo album is entitled Firestarr (January 2001).
